Twin Sisters House in Latvia Presenting a Combination of house with nature

Twin sisters house is a project in Latvia. The project client were twin sisters and it was to design a building featuring two units, one unit downstairs, and one upstairs. The architect is Milad Eshtiyaghi Studio. Twins are formed, born and raised together. Each is a separate person, but they are similar to the extent that it is not easy to distinguish one from the other. Their personality is separate and together has a sense of completeness and calm.

The design of twin sister house comprises of two floors. It is one floor on another, while each is a separate unit. These two units are next to each other resembling two twin sisters standing close to each other. The two units must be adjacent as neighbors and their exterior is also designed to appear similar. The space in the middle of these buildings is by a tree in the center and by the middle courtyard combining nature and architecture.

Each building has a curved shape and is formed with the idea of sister’s hair in the wind and the slope is due to the project climate site. Each building interior space is similar and the public space is in the ground floor, while the private space is on the upper floor. The staircase link two floors and the visual view is maintained with the nature outside. It is a combination designed within the house with nature.

Two sisters house is designed as twin sister house. It is designed by NRJA studio, based in Riga. Located perfectly in Langstini, the first floor area spreads on 3600 square feet and will be shared commonly by two families. The second floor is separately used by families, ensuring privacy and public time.
